I stumbled across this fic and just had to comment.

I love this. I love the bleak atmosphere and Sirius' almost detachment from his own emotions, because it makes them come across all the clearer for not being dwelt upon. He's broken and trying to deal with too much, and he just can't anymore.

I love the puppies happy, but this characterization of them and their relationship rings startlingly true, and it's good to read a Sirius/Remus fic that doesn't fall into the trap of overempathizing with Remus and depicting Sirius as shallow and fickle and immature.
