Wow, it really is quite creepy--I'm intrigued to find out what will happen at the memorial (I am predicting some drama!) I liked the tension and sense of general foreboding--it was quite clear this story is taking place in the middle of a war.

The lighter touches were nice as well, so it wasn't horrible doom laden--I really liked the R/Hr interaction and the stuff about Molly getting drunk and dancing on the table.
