That's the thing, exactly - I get irrationally annoyed when romance writers don't bother doing their research, and so to do that myself would be both hypocritical and intellectually dishonest of me. Since I mock other people for following romance conventions instead of historical accuracy, I cannot really do that same myself. *sighs* I guess I'll just have to find a way around them.
