1. I went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! Draco was LOVELY, all I could have hoped for. I spent most of the film muttering "this is why YOU are my favourite" at the screen. I even liked the Remus/Tonks bits - none of that bullying him into a marriage he doesn't want stuff. And Harry, bless him, was actually funny. It's almost like Daniel Radcliffe could act or something. Especially with the girls, and with Ron and Hermione, with Slughorn. Tom Riddle was suitably creepy.
I actually liked the portrayal of Hermione in this, and Emma Watson's acting for the first time ever. Possibly I just like it when girls call boys idiots and hit them in the head. But still, that was all good.
Mostly I just really liked Draco. :)
2. I have a job interview in two weeks. \o/ I'm still kind of astonished that anyone is contemplating giving me a job (what on earth are they thinking about, honestly!) but still, the idea of not starving is quite appealing. I might even find somewhere to live when I need to move out of current flat in six weeks. That said, I have become a job applications fiend in the past few weeks - the people at the career's centre said my cover letters were perfect. Something to be proud of, at least.
3. Speaking of being smug, I have been to the gym 50 times between January and June. I have actual muscles now, and you can see them an everything. Mostly this is because I pay a yearly fee of £100, and so the more I go, the cheaper it gets, but there is also a strong undercurrent of being really vain. *g* I might be unemployed and unemployable, but at least I'm really really fit. :)
4. I'm going to see Amanda Fucking Palmer in London on September 12th with
emeraldgreen and possibly
flesh, and it's going to be awesome. Anybody else got tickets for that? I'm thinking pooling our wine resources (and possibly bringing some for Amanda, I understand she likes that).
5. Thank you so much to everyone who commented on the love thread - it made my week so much better and you guys are wonderful.
6. I've got a post a-brewing on fandom participation and My Deep Thoughts on the state of several fandoms, but it might be a while till I post it, as my hands are acting up. All those job applications, *smites them*
Anyway, how is all of you?

Date: 2009-07-17 12:26 am (UTC)I think Emma Watson improved in this film, definitely. And Dan Radcliffe, too, although he had less far to go. Apparently in the Felix scenes, he just took the brakes off his own, slightly loopy, personality, so what you see is what you get. :-)
2. Yay for job interviews! Good luck.
4. Augh, I have been meaning to look for UK gigs in September, and I missed that one, and now it's sold out. :(
