writing and reading
Nov. 11th, 2005 05:12 pmMore thoughts on writing, and the different kinds of styles and stories that can be found in the fandom. I read a lot of different things, assorted pairings as well as various ways of telling a story. I find things like
copperbadge's "Stealing Harry" or
hackthis's "Trade" very satisfying to read, because of the length and the sustained development of plot and character (as well as very hot sex, obviously). But I also like short, lyrical pieces like the ones promoted by
hp_literotica, as well as crackfic and humour like
mirasfics's "The Malfoy Guide to Productive Extortion". I love reading romantic fics, first time fics where the focus is on how Remus and Sirius first got together: I enjoy reading unadulterated porn.
So my question is, what type of fics do you prefer to read? Is there a particular style that you love above all others, is there something you refuse to read? Or do you enjoy many different kinds of writing? Does the type even matter?
