More thoughts on writing, and the different kinds of styles and stories that can be found in the fandom. I read a lot of different things, assorted pairings as well as various ways of telling a story. I find things like [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge's "Stealing Harry" or [livejournal.com profile] hackthis's "Trade" very satisfying to read, because of the length and the sustained development of plot and character (as well as very hot sex, obviously). But I also like short, lyrical pieces like the ones promoted by [livejournal.com profile] hp_literotica, as well as crackfic and humour like [livejournal.com profile] mirasfics's "The Malfoy Guide to Productive Extortion". I love reading romantic fics, first time fics where the focus is on how Remus and Sirius first got together: I enjoy reading unadulterated porn.

So my question is, what type of fics do you prefer to read? Is there a particular style that you love above all others, is there something you refuse to read? Or do you enjoy many different kinds of writing? Does the type even matter?
