I am now 29 years old. *contemplates throwing confetti around, then thinks about the cleaning and decides against it*
So far I've congratulated by three companies, Facebook, somebody from my old uni and my current university travel agents (wtf?), which was, um, nice, but kind of weird. I'm pleased that the team of Facebook is wishing me a happy birthday, but I'm also pretty sure that there is no actual team of Facebook that is aware of me or my birthday. And since it is so obviously an automated response, why bother? I'm getting slightly freaked by the fact that on every 8th March, little blings are going off around the world in various computers saying "must congratulate
wildestranger!"
Anyway, it has been a good day so far. At least my mother hasn't called me at seven to wake me up and say happy birthday (my mother is sometimes a perverse creature). I have a Large and Superior Sesame Seed Bagel from M&S, some organic houmous and green tea. I will soon have coffee. I have an exciting new t-shirt from GAP, one of those RED for charity things (by Bono! Not that I'm, you know, that kind of a fangirl. *g*) with DESI(RED) or INC(RED)IBLE on them. I already had the green one (naturally), so I bought the super-red INSPI(RED), and wow, red is so my colour. At least this shade of red. And the neckline makes me look like I might even have a cleavage (I don't, really, but it's fun to pretend sometimes). There might be pictures later.
In the evening, I shall be taken out to dinner by my friends, and then to a nice bar that plays rock music (probably not My Chem, but certainly The Killers and Franz Ferdinand and even The Divine Comedy at times), where I have been promised table-dancers in the form of drunken friends. Since I shall not be drinking, my entertainment will have to be the music and drunken friends and hence - table-dancing.
Interestingly, this will be the first time in eleven years that I haven't celebrated with alcohol. I'm still not convinced that it is possible to celebrate without alcohol (what would you do, cake and party hats?), but we shall see.
Now, I would just like to remind you that gayporn is a perfectly acceptable birthday present. See Gerard's face for my expectant grin. ;)
