Tempting, pondering and sulking

i. I rewatched The History Boys last night, and boy, had I forgotten what a wonderful, wonderful film it was. Posner is a lot cooler than I remembered; so witty, so brave (such challenging glances - who could resist that? And singing!), and so very, very attractive. More so than Dakin, I should think.

I particularly enjoyed his close friendship with Scribbs. Who also, I noticed, has lovely strong arms and a witty sense of humour. I strongly feel there should be more Posner/Scribbs in the world. Who's going to write me some? I can offer you cheap wine and naked pictures, and a pornlet of you choice. *tempts*

ii. I also watched the first episode of The State Within last night (they're repeating it on BBC4, at nine, tonight). Jason Isaacs is delicious, and that guy from Cutting It is also hot and delightfully gay. Although sadly, not with Jason Isaacs. What did youse think of it, if you saw it? I also find myself enthralled by the political impications that seem to be playing out in it. I wonder if they ever showed this on BBC America. *ponders*

iii. Thirdly, I am saddened and disappointed by the fact that nobody wants to say anything Rodneyish about me. Doesn't anyone want to tell me that my degrees, although clearly inferior in not being in astrophysics, are still better than those hoohaa things called the social sciences (since, at least, literature doesn't pretend to be a science)? Or that my hair, although clearly not as wonderful as that of Sam Carter, is still not bad in a shortish and blondish sort of way? Come on, people, I'm feeling very slighted and unloved. *sulks*

Oh yes, the dvd has been out for a while. Well, it has been in the UK, not sure how it works over there. Still, you should definitely see this film. It's brilliant and funny and very, very hot in unexpected ways. :)

FYI, they did indeed show The State Within on BBCA a few months back, and it's been sitting on my TiVo ever since. I've been inspired to watch it now! Is Jason Isaacs deliciously evil or deliciously good? (I sort of love how he goes around playing evil people all the time, and then you see him interviewed or something and he's clearly, like, the nicest guy on earth.)

He's pretty good and lovely in this - and upstanding man and a servant of her majesty, and in a most delicious way. He's not simplistic, but rather dignified and sensitive and wonderfully subtle. Also, I am told there is hot gay sex between some other people, as well as hot straight sex with Jason Isaacs, which, really, is enough reason for me to watch it. But the politics are also very interesting. :)
