I found a weird insect nest (spiders, tiny spiders?) inside my boots. After many shudders of revulsion, I managed to scoop out the nest, but there are still tiny insects running inside. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid them? These are leather boots, so I can't just put them in the washing machine.

Please help!

Put them outside, in the sun. All of the insects will run off into the sunshine.

Failing that, you could roll some mothballs into the boots?

Well, considering that I live in England, where sun is generally a theoretical concept, or at least likely to be followed by lots of rain....

Mothballs, perhaps. Shall look into it. Thanks!

Hmm, good idea. Not sure if it will fit inside the boot, but will give it a try. Thanks!

Spray your boots with insecticide. Leaving your boots all shiny and sticky inside but free of insects! :)

When I first read that I misread it as 'inside my boobs' and was seriously freaked out.

However. Moving away from my own issues. Try taking the carpet brush (the big end) off the vaccuum cleaner and you should have the angles-n-corners nozzle left. That ought to fit in the boot. Or else just hold the boot upside over the bath and whack it.

Well I was going to suggest using the vacuum cleaner, but that's already been given....

Buy new boots.

Put larger spiders in the boots to eat the smaller ones. Repeat until you have only one, really big spider in each boot, which will be easy to dump out.

Vacuum with the vacuum cleaner attachments.

Also, I googled and these people seemed to have lots of tips... Not sure how many would work on boots, but if you have any of the ingredients around it might be worth a try!

Squirt a bit of insecticide into each boot and then use the vacuum to get rid of the corpses. Be careful not to get any insecticide on the outside of your boots, as it might discolour the leather.

(I totally started typing 'incesticide' just then. ;D)
