I have spent more time contemplating the Regency AU, and reading romance novels doing research into things like men's fashions and the parliamentary debates of 1816. Fun times. However, it is not all breeches and riding crops (much as I wished it was), my story also needs a plot. Or rather, it needs cliched plot devices.

Hence, a poll. And our heroine is, ahem, Brendon Urie. :)

[Poll #1162712]

Speaking of breeches, here's a picture I came across that seems most appropriate. Except that Regency Ryan would probably wear more scarves. And tighter breeches.

But really, I want to read ANY OF THOSE.

Ahahaha, that picture. I swear, whenever they're dressed all fancy Jon always looks like a patient and indulgent big brother stuck playing dress-up with his weird little brothers. And sisters.

I have decided that this is what they look like in the Regency AU, all tightly fitted clothes and such, with Ryan's hilarious hair-cut. And the thing on his glove.

Except I'm making him wear purple. :)

And yes, Jon, he does, doesn't he? This isn't so bad, at least it's clothes that people actually wear/wore. Unlike rose-vests with ravens on your cheek.

Why aren't those ticky boxes, so I can check ALL OF THEM?

Wow, those are some spectacular pants.

Cause I have an irrational hatred of ticky boxes, and I like to aggravate other people? But worry not, they shall all take place - the question is, which one first?

And yes, I greatly admire their breeches. Am having much fun describing them too. :)

But those are ALL my favorites. It's a problem. I was overcome by the idea of the Evil Count, but I must say, The Heroine Gets Dressed Up is also beyond wonderful, and The Heroine Crossdresses For Adventure is amazing. In short, I will cry giant pathetic tears if you *don't* eventually write all of them.

Let me know when I cross the line in to creepy stalking, okay? I want a record. *sigh*

Heh, you're not being a creepy stalker, you're lovely and encouraging. *hugs*

I'm still trying to think up ways for our heroine (um, Brendon) to dress up as a boy girl in search of adventure. *ponders*

I will probably write them all at some point.

And Ryan Ross never stops looking ridiculous, does he?

Yay!

And no, no he doesn't. He's the embodiment of ridiculous, I think.

I'm still not into bandslash (sorry!), but there cannot be enough Wicked Count scenarios in the world. (Although I also like the "dresses up as a boy and seeks adventure" one.)

I do love a Wicked Count. :)

To be fair, in this case as our heroine is in fact a boy, he'll get to dress up as a girl and seek adventure. But still, shenanigans!

Ah, I assumed it would be some sort of Shakespearean double bluff: boy playing the role of a girl dressed up as a boy sort of thing.

oooh, I want them all, too! but dress-up!Brendon first, yes.

also, I would like a tiny set of Regency!Panic to keep on my bookshelf to cheer me up on difficult days.

I'm rather enjoying the idea of Ryan trying to give clothing advice, and Spencer rolling his eyes and telling Brendon that Mr. Ross is not a good model of gentlemanly attire. No one needs that many scarves!

AH. I want this AU so badly that it's kind of ridiculous. But the dressing up scenario finally got my vote because I'm a sappy sucker for friendship! And tight breeches, apparently.

Also ridiculous? How seeing you use icons I made makes me smile.

Your icons are utterly lovely and I'm enjoying using them a lot. :)

And yes, tight breeches are very important. Brendon is from the country so he's not used to such tightness! But his friends are eager to teach him about their advantages.

Regency!Ryan encapsulates many things, mostly his own ridiculousness. :)
