Oh, thank God. *hugs* I have so many UK friends, and I'm at a loss, having just woken up and hearing the news from all over.

I'm sorry to hear about your laptop, too. I hope things work out for you, whatever happens. I understand what you mean... I'm also feeling guilty for posting a fic last night and am itching to delete it in disgust, seeing what's happening in the real world right now.

It's going all right. It's hard to strike a balance between things like writing fiction and then horrible things going on the real world. But deleting your fic wouldn't help anyone, and it might make some one feel better, so I'd say leave it.

Everything! Well, not really, some thesis work that was pretty crap anyway and all my fiction. Luckily, am greedy for attention, so most of it is posted here. The one story I was mostly working on is gone, all 5108 words of it, but I have the first draft handwritten in a notebook, so I've been able to reconstruct it mostly. And the third part of the Law of Seduction, but that was pretty crap anyway, so I'll rewrite that at some point.

Getting less bitter about it now though.

And yeah, I know some people know that I live up north, but then figured why not, not everyone does and some might worry. And yeah, just in case. But glad to see you are well. :)

And that's dreadful about your laptop. Over 5000 words, shit. Things like that just pull the rug out from under you, don't they. But yeah - I'm so not helping! Okay, off to do practical things.

whew! thanks for posting, I have no clue as to where where you all are located aside from general cities for some. It's a relief to see everyone checking in and various impressions being posted. Most of us who've traveled to London at some point are shocked to see where the attacks were, and comparing them to the images in our minds of traveling certain lines on the tube or buses. I can't imagine what is must be like for people living nearer those areas, or even for you. Your island is so small compared with my own continent, (the events of NY were 3,000 miles from where I live).

I have cursed the thief many a time, it's quite entertaining actually. But yeah, in the end that's just money, and inconvenience, and I can recover most of the stuff of value that I had on it. Things like that seem quite trivial now.

And it is quite worrying, not knowing where people are. But everybody I know seems to have turned out ok. :)
