I would like to recommend to you all the writings of eudaimon, who is a brilliant writer and woefully underappreciated in the fandom. She writes Remus/Sirius that avoids all the common cliches, and makes use of cliches to produce something truly original. There is plot, great characterisation, very hot sex, in fact all that you might want in very good fiction, but most importantly, there is a style, or styles, that coax meaning out of common words and make every word worth reading twice. There is rhythm, a poetic quality to her writing that makes the narrative compelling but not difficult. In addition to this, she is a very versatile writer and writes slash, femmeslash (which I don't read as a genre but what she does is very much worth reading) het and gen, with rare pairings as well as not so rare ones. She also writes quality fiction otherwise, of which the best example in my opinion is the community women_, that consists of short stories based on various historical/mythological women such as Isolde, Anne Bonney, Morgan Le Fay, and is very much worth reading for the quality of the writing.

You can find her fanfiction in the masterlist above. 9 songs is a chaptered Remus/Sirius from Remus' point of view, whereas the Redux tells the same story from Sirius' perspective. 2nd Song is a chaptered Hermione/Tonks, which is heartbreakingly beautiful and compelling. She has also written some wonderful Ted/Andromeda which you can also find in the list, and many other things.

Just want to agree with all that. 2nd song made me cry madly, which hardly ever happens, because it's just so wonderful. I didn't realise she was so little appreciated, really, because I'd heard a lot of people mention 9 songs, but that's probably just because I spend too much time in R/S-y places, and there's probably a lot of other people missing her stuff. I found 2nd song while trawling for good femmeslash and it amazed me.

So yeah, more people should read her stuff.
