sarcasm always wins out in the end

I shall be leaving for Sectus early tomorrow morning, so this is my last post Before The Book. I'm kind of looking forward to the conference - there's people I really want to see (fleshdress and _emeraldgreen, among others) and some of the papers and panels sound very interesting. That said, I also know that I get somewhat misanthropic and unsociable when surrounded by large groups of people, so it's quite possible that I'll spend most of my time sitting in a corner somewhere with a bottle of wine and bitching about Stupid People under my breath. Especially if there is wank After The Book.

That said, if you (generic you, any of you who might be reading this) want to come and say hello, please do! I promise not to be evil. Mostly. And I will probably be wearing a t-shirt that says "Dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians" (a present from pre_raphaelite1 and one that I find hilarious) or one that says "If Jesus comes back, we'll kill him again" (which I bought myself, because I have a twisted sense of humour like that and also I find that hilarious). Or possibly one that says "sarcasm always wins out in the end". And most likely something green.

I'm not going to finish Adventures in High Life before Sectus (I don't have the time to do it properly, and I like this story too much to be satisfied with a hurriedly written ending also no one seems to be reading it anyway and I'm sulking), but it is half way written and I promise that it will be done fairly soon, regardless of what happens in The Book. I have a few other things that I also want to finish (The Wake - Remus/Sirius; a few Draco/Neville things), that will also get done, no matter what happens.

I'll be back Sunday evening, and will undoubtedly have many things to say about The Book. I have been spoiled for it, but haven't read the thing, and I'm certainly not going to tell anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled. I am bitchy in many ways, but this is not one of them. *g*

i. It appears the sign-ups for hpvalensmut are on. I keep being tempted, despite the fact that oh yeah, my brain doesn't do that anymore. Woe. :(

ii. Have signed up for Sectus 2007. That said, I'm terribly shy in person so will probably just stand in a corner sipping wine and making fun of people behind their backs. I'm evil that way.

iii. Oh Rodney. ( cut for squeeing on SGA 3.01 )

iv. Have received my SGA calendar today. There was a centerfold.*g* Sadly, it wasn't John Sheppard slouching in that provocative way of his, but rather the city of Atlantis. Oh well.
