Fic: Sings of Love Remus/Sirius/Regulus R

Many exciting things happened while I as gone! Most exciting of which was, of course, The Remix! I spent most of Sunday 26th and half of Monday 27th trying to find an internet spot in order to read them, and made many squealing noises (
pre_raphaelite1 can attest to this) when I did get to read what had been written of my story. But that shall get a pimping post of its own; and here is what I wrote.
Title: Signs of love (My skin should crack and peel)
Pairing: Remus/Sirius/Regulus
Summary: Remus says he loves them both.
Rating: R
Fandom: Harry Potter
Warnings: (if applicable) Um, threesome?
Original Story: When I Burn

He loves you, Remus says, but the words don't quite make sense until Sirius sees the red welts on Remus' back. There is one curving by the side of Remus' neck and Sirius leans close to follow it with his tongue, lapping up what little blood is left from his brother's games. Such signs are familiar; Regulus always liked his toys to bear his mark. Sirius remembers Regulus at nine, tiny face scrunched up in concentration as he carved strange sigils into his favourite wooden horse. Or Regulus at fourteen, bruises from Lucius Malfoy's cane blossoming on his back, a blissful smile turning his solemn mouth into a thing of joy.
It has always been a relief to Sirius that what marks Regulus has left on him are in a place he doesn't have to see.
But Remus needs to know none of this and so Sirius speaks, as if a normal person would, a good Gryffindor boy would. Funny way to show it, he says, stroking Remus' scars as if to hide them with his fingers. But there are other ways to do that, and even as Remus insists (He does, you know he does, and you love him), Sirius gathers him close and tries to lose them both on slick fingers over cocks, soapy skin sliding together as open mouths seek for things to latch on to. And even though Remus' eyes are still cloudy from watching Regulus play with his knives, Sirius must say it, can't not say it, an answer to all the Blackness of his whiny, cowardly heart. I love you, he whispers, moaning the words into Remus' shoulder, forming signs of love with his teeth.
But you loved him first, and Sirius lets his head fall back against the tiles, because yes he did, and does.
***
Regulus is smirking and Sirius finds he doesn't hate him for it. Remus moans between them, slim hips trembling beneath Sirius' hands as he takes his fill, Remus' mouth greedy on Regulus' cock. They are watching each other over this prone white form, raised eyebrows and victorious smiles, until Regulus reaches out a teasing hand to follow the marks on Remus' back and Sirius grabs him by the arm and bites his mouth.
He knows Remus wants him to speak, but that is not how Blacks say these things and Regulus knows it, anyway. Sharp little teeth are marking him now, pulling blood from his mouth as if to say this is what matters, never mind that Sirius' boyfriend is sucking Regulus' cock, never mind that it is Remus who brought them both here.
Yet the kiss turns into something else than punishment and bitterness and Sirius wonders how well Remus knows him, how well can he understand what such love means to them. There is old longing here, an awareness of what they are and what they cannot escape; lust-poison in the blood that marks them. Regulus opens his mouth and tries to speak but there are no words for this, no sin to be washed white and no confession to be forgiven. Sirius watches Regulus arch up as his comes, the perfect pout momentarily transformed into the mouth of a less calculating boy. He must move faster, fuck Remus harder to catch up.
As Sirius pulls Regulus down to the floor, tracing all those line of what-he-is-not with his hands and mouth, he sees Remus watching them with pained satisfaction. And he continues to touch Regulus, desperately now, closing his eyes to the knowledge that this is what Remus requires of him.
***
The owl pricks his arm, as hungry for blood as all other Blacks. Sirius watches it spill on the floor, drop by drop all his precious purity, wasted on cheap wooden boards.
We regret to inform you that…
But the Ministry has no regrets for Death Eater scum, and Sirius wonders if he should, if that night two weeks ago meant anything other than nails on his cheeks and Remus' treacherous smile.
Then Sirius grows cold, for what if, what if he had, what if that's why. Remus said Come to us. He went to Regulus and said we will help you, to get away, if you come to us. You will be safe.
Yet Regulus lies dead among other malevolent corpses and Remus will need someone new to feed on, someone else to give him the guilt he loves so well.
Love does not mean affection and respect and trust, or other such pleasant Gryffindor things. It can also be a gangrenous limb, a thing beloved but malignant, a part of the self that must be cut off.
Regulus had laughed, he had said, this is what I can make him do, he loves me, you see, he loves me. And Sirius had kissed him and said yes, but he loved me first.
Remus comes home, all wind swept scarves and hair shining from dread. He looks at Sirius, nervously. Waits for the axe to fall.
Get out, Sirius says, I don’t want to see you here when I come home.

Date: 2006-04-06 12:56 pm (UTC)This made me all edgy and uncomfy in my seat, so pained and desperate.
Just went to read the original, too, and you've really done a marvellous job of remixing it!

As it seems I've been rendered completely incoherent, I'll just say I loved it.
