Review: SG1 10.13 The Road Not Taken

wildestrangerOh my god. Stargate SG1. Oh my god. Atlantis people? You'll want to watch this one.
And now for spoilers.
Rodney! Lorne! OMG!
Ahem. Anyway, the show starts with Sam doing some experiments and Cameron bouncing along (literally *g* so pretty when he bounces), getting caught by a force field (with complimentary funny noises) and telling Sam she has one minute to finish her thing before he drags her to lunch. He'll be counting. And yes, my mind went to a bad place (or, you know, Torchwood) *g*), but seriously, Cameron Mitchell and Captain Jack? Would be so hot.
Anyway, Sam gets trapped in a parallel world (they haven't had one of those in SG1 in a while, or did I just miss it?), blah blah blah, with Martial law, no Atlantis, USA has control of only stargate, evil American politicians, blah blah blah, Major Lorne is in charge of SG1! This is the first time I literally slapped my hand across my mouth and squealed Oh My God to the room at large. Which was fortunately empty except for me, but you know. (I have never performed such hand motions before, and have no idea why I'm doing it now. The McKay effect or something, no doubt.) Very embarrassing.
While still squeeing (but with restraint and decorum, naturally), the credits come on and I see 'David Hewlett' flit by my screen. OMG and more slapping of the mouth ensues. I felt quite ashamed.
So, in the alternative universe, Samantha Carter was married to Rodney McKay. They got divorced, but remained friends. Their Sam was killed in the explosion that brought our Sam there, and we get a lovely view of Rodney's woobie face when he hears of her death.
Most importantly, we get Rodney in glasses. And a delightful brown button up shirt. And oh, he's a dot com millionaire as well as a physics genius. And he helps Sam figure out how to get back and ends up helping to lessen the fucked-upness of his own universe when he is hired to do Sam's job at the SG1 (Our Sam tells him her Rodney is the most courageous, selfless man she knows. It's hilarious. Not least, because he's overjoyed at first, then deflates. Bless. *pets Rodney*)
There is also a long-haired, overtly drawling and lazy-spoken Mitchell in a wheel chair. :)
This episode has made me very, very happy. Not least because I want to imagine Rodney's face when he hears Sam Carter married him in another universe. And then, everyone else's faces. There really should be fic about this. *g*

But yes. Lovely Rodney. And there really should be porn following this. ;)
