It is possible that I am thinking about writing some Inception fic (since my brain is currently on a track f eameseameseames, with occasional bursts of Gerard!). In view of this possibility, I have a few questions for those of you who have seen the film more often than me.

1. Do we know Yusuf's nationality? And Aridane's?

2. Do we at any point see any of them drinking alcohol, and if so, which beverage?

Because naturally, my way to characterisation is through drinking.

Eames is drinking a beer in the scene in Mombasa with Cobb, isn't he? And Yusuf drinks the champagne on the plane, but I think that was more because 'yay, free booze!' than anything else.

As for their nationalities, I haven't seen any speculation on Yusuf's, but most of fandom seems to assume that Ariadne is an American living in Paris.

Well, I would have thought so, but apparently some people don't drink? Or if they do, don't think about their drinking that much? I know, people are strange.

Arthur, Cobb, and Saito are drinking red wine (edit again: and green tea) in the beginning while Arthur and Cobb are in Saito's dream party. Cobb and Eames both have beer when they're in Mombasa. Yusuf is drinking champagne on the plane.

In the second level in the hotel bar, Fischer looks like he's drinking a clear liquor (gin or vodka?), Eames as the blonde was drinking white wine or champagne (I don't really remember, but probably white wine), and Cobb looks like he's drinking water. Cobb and Ariadne are probably drinking coffee in the Parisian cafe in Ariadne's first dream (not alcohol, but a drink).

I'm getting all of this from the Inception hi-res pics that are out.

Hmmm, that part of the picture isn't too clear, but I can definitely make out clams on the half-shell, some sort of salad, and what looks like brown rice (?).

I think you've got it covered in the comments, except that Arthur is also drinking red wine when he's discussing the inception job on the plane with Cobb. That's everything I remember!
