Apparently, Brendon Urie came out as bisexual during the Manchester show a few days ago? I suppose it could be a throwaway comment (although really, would you make that kind of a comment if you didn't mean it?), but even then I'd have thought this to be something people would talk about.

So, why isn't the fandom exploding? Why isn't there fic contemplating the consequences of this, all the various people who might feel the urge, ahem, to contact Brendon afterwards?

Also, why aren't there more Brendon Urie Comes Out fics? Surely this is an endlessly fascinating topic!

Maybe no one got really good video/audio of it or people aren't 100% of what he said and don't want to sound the general bisexuality alarm and then have it not be for real?

*shrug* I thought fandom wasn't exploding because either a) we kind of figured that out already and b) the comment was made as part of a joke. Though it would have been pretty funny if Brendon had decided to have a Very Special Talk with the audience.

Well, there was also revelation that Bang The Doldrums was basically about Mikeyway, and no one expounded on the fact that we know that they at least made out, judging from the lyrics. So...*shrug* we're picky about the canon we explode over?

Pete didn't say anything but it was mentioned that Bang The Doldrums used to be called Summer of Like, which is what they called the Summer of the Sweet Little Dudes whem Mikey and Pete were all over each other. Add a dash of tinhatting and there ya go

huh. I had to watch that twice to be able to understand what he was saying over all of the squealing.

also, why does everyone make Ryan *angry* at Brendon for coming out? I've seen that characterization in at least one other fic recently, and airgiodslv used it in her post as well. I mean, if they have the Stage Gay (which they do, yes?), why would the Real Gay (or Bisexual) bother him? (Ok, I know there are real answers to that, but they all kind of make Ryan either a paranoid homophobe or a total control freak who will only allow Brendon to come out if he (Ryan) gets to write the statement and plan the press conference and otherwise choreograph.) Also, heteronormic rigidity seems generally unlike them, from what I've observed so far.

I'm puzzled, and also vaguely disappointed with Ryan for being such a pill.
