Clever things I have done since achieving my doctorate:
- Been locked out of my house in the middle of the night. Admittedly, this was not my fault - the lock had mysteriously broken and had to be fixed by two different locksmiths the next day. Still, annoying and frustrating.
- Dropped my desk on my foot, as a result of which I have a broken toe. Well, I think it's broken/fractured, because it's swollen and hurts and I can't walk very well. Apparently, there's not much to be done about such things, so I shan't bother going to the doctor's unless it gets worse. I can't walk anyway, or afford a taxi, so the point is moot. Have taken ibuprofen and am keeping it (sort of) elevated, so hopefully it gets better. If anyone has insightful advice on how to treat a broken toe, those would be greatly appreciated.
